Premise
The 2025 Best Thesis Awards is an esteemed international competition dedicated to recognizing outstanding and influential architectural theses. It showcases pioneering work by final-year students and recent graduates, emphasizing advancements in design, sustainability, and technological integration within architecture.
Objective
The competition’s goal is to identify and honor exceptional theses exhibiting originality, innovative problem-solving, and pertinence to current architectural issues. Through the presentation of these projects, the aim is to motivate future architects and stimulate discussion about architecture’s evolving societal contribution.
Eligibility
- Participation is open to architecture students in their final year (graduating in 2025) and those who have graduated in 2024 or prior.
- Submissions must be strictly individual; team entries are not permitted.
Key Dates & Fees
- Early Registration: Ends April 30, 2025 – $45 USD
- Regular Registration: Ends August 31, 2025 – $60 USD
- Late Registration: Ends October 30, 2025 – $75 USD
- Final Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025 (23:59 UTC)
Submission Requirements
- Two A1 sheets (PDF format, 150dpi, maximum 20MB per sheet).
- An optional 1-2 minute video detailing the concept, to be uploaded as unlisted on a video hosting platform.
- Files should be named using the format
entry-<EntryCode>.pdf(e.g.,entry-1234.pdf). - Submissions must maintain anonymity, free from any personal or regional identifying information.
- All content must be original, with the exception of collage or rendering components.
Entry Code & Registration
- Upon successful registration, each participant will be assigned a unique 4-digit Entry Code (which corresponds to their Order Number).
- Registration details and process will be provided on the official competition platform.

Evaluation Criteria
- Conceptual Innovation (30%): Assesses originality and pertinence.
- Design Excellence (30%): Evaluates aesthetic appeal, functionality, and technical rigor.
- Sustainability (20%): Focuses on environmentally responsible solutions.
- Presentation (20%): Examines the clarity and impact of visual elements and narrative.
